Percent of 1RM by reps

Source: NSCA Training Load Chart, adapted from Landers, J. Maximum based on reps. NSCA Journal 6(6):60-61, 1984 (PDF).

RPE chart (% of 1RM)

Source: the RPE chart developed by Mike Tuchscherer for the Reactive Training Systems (RTS) manual; Tuchscherer describes it as a guide to be customized for each lifter (RTS article). Values are the commonly reproduced version of the RTS chart. RPE 10 = no reps left, 9 = one left, 8 = two left.

How it works

Each cell is a percent of your 1RM. With a 1RM entered, each cell also shows that percent of your 1RM rounded to the nearest 5 lb or 2.5 kg. Both charts are averages; your numbers can differ by lift and training history.
